You compare first paint to the settled UI. The bug is the snap: the first thing the user sees is not what the page becomes. You do not invent frames.

WHY THIS MATTERED IN 2026
SSR and client stores still disagree on first render. Testers see a cart badge jump from 0 to 3, a signed-out header then a signed-in one, a date in the wrong zone, then a correction. Users feel a lie even when the final state is right.
